Part-Time Digital Communications Specialist (Rockford Education Foundation)

Job Summary:

The Rockford Education Foundation (REF) is seeking a highly motivated and creative part-time Digital Communications Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our social media presence, crafting engaging email newsletters and blog posts, capturing high-quality photographs, updating our website, providing occasional event support, and creating compelling stories that highlight the impact of our educational grants. Responsibilities:

●      Develop and execute social media strategies across multiple platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
●      Create compelling stories that showcase the positive impact of our educational grants on students and educators in the Rockford community.
●      Write high-quality and engaging email newsletters, blog posts, and press releases that highlight the outcomes of REF educational grants.
●      Capture high-quality photographs of our grants in action, events, and related content.
●      Manage social media campaigns and track analytics to ensure maximum engagement and impact.
●      Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events.
●      Support the creation of visual marketing materials and collateral.
●      Update the REF website, ensuring it is current, accurate, and visually appealing.
●      Collaborate with REF staff and Trustees to maintain consistent branding and messaging across all channels.
●      Stay up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends and technologies.
●      Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

●      Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
●      2+ years of experience in digital marketing and social media management.
●      Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
●      Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
●      Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
●      Experience with social media scheduling and analytics tools, such as Hootsuite and Google Analytics.
●      Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This is a remote/hybrid part-time position with flexible hours. The expected workload is 8-12 hours per week, approximately 42 weeks per year, and the pay range is $18-$20 per hour based on experience.
